Abstract:  Starting with the distributive lattice of shapes, and following a novel route through Young tableaux and content-fillings of skew shapes, we arrive at the order-theoretic structure of the class of pairings between two skew shapes, and thus of the space of pairings between the associated skew representations of the general linear group.
