Abstract: We give a a strong version of a classic inequality of Łojasiewicz; one which collapses to the usual inequality in the complex analytic case. We show that this inequality for tuples of real analytic functions allows us to construct a real Milnor fibration. For those familiar with my usual, complex analytic talks, which use the derived category and other advanced machinery, this will NOT be one of those talks. This talk should be accessible to a much more general audience.
