Abstract: A report of joint work with Matthias Franz and Nigel Ray. As toric varieties, weighted projective spaces have a natural torus action. We describe the integral equivariant cohomology ring, with respect to this action, in terms of piecewise polynomial functions on the underlying fan. Unlike the ordinary integral cohomology, this ring distinguishes among weighted projective spaces.
