Abstract: I will survey the analytic properties of q-difference equations, both in the p-adic and complex setting, focusing on the case |q|=1. In the p-adic setting, or |q|=1, one can prove the existence of a natural functor of isomonodromic transformation. The p-adic situation seems to be a source of inspiration for the complex framework.
