Abstract: We discuss recent progress on two classical conjectures in algebraic K-theory. The first conjecture (of Vorst) states that homotopy invariance of the K-theory of a ring is equivalent to its regularity. The second conjecture (of Weibel) states that a noetherian scheme of dimension d has no K-group below degree -d. ΚΚ
