Talk at 1:30 p.m. in 509 Lake Hall.

Abstract:    Cayley-Dickson algebras are natural generalizations of the real numbers, complex numbers, quaternions, and octonions. I will give a progress report about ongoing work (joint with Daniel Biss, Dan Christensen, and Dan Dugger) to understand these algebras in detail. The long-term goal is to use these algebras to produce exotic geometric structures.

Here are some directions to Northeastern University. Lake Hall can be best accessed from the entrance on the corner of Greenleaf Street and Leon Street.
