Talk at 1:30 PM in 511 Lake

Abstract: I will report on joint work with Alicia Dickenstein and Ezra Miller, where we give an explicit, combinatorial description for the primary components of a binomial ideal, thus refining results by Eisenbud and Sturmfels. I will also show how these results are applied to study hypergeometric systems of differential equations, allowing us understand the classical systems of Horn in terms of the A-hypergeometric systems of Gelfand, Kapranov and Zelevinsky.

Here are some directions to Northeastern University. Lake Hall can be best accessed from the entrance on the corner of Greenleaf Street and Leon Street.
