Torsion and cotorsion in cohomology theories

Abstract: We show that for a wide range of cohomology theories, including motivic cohomology and algebraic K-theory, torsion and cotorsion is invariant under certain field extensions. This generalizes results of Suslin and Suslin-Voevodsky.
