Talk at 1:30 PM in 511 Lake

Abstract:   Cluster-tilted algebras form a class of finite dimensional algebras which provide a connection between cluster algebras and tilting theory, via cluster categories. Each cluster in the cluster algebra gives rise to a cluster-tilted algebra, which is the endomorphism algebra of a tilting object in the cluster category.

Besides (or because of?) their link to cluster algebras, cluster-tilted algebras are very interesting from the point of view of representation theory of finite dimensional algebras. For example, one can also define them as trivial extensions of tilted algebras by a canonical bimodule.

In this talk, I will define cluster-tilted algebras and explain some of their properties.
