Talk at 1:30 PM in 511 Lake

Abstract: We will study the geometry of the Springer fibre associated to 2-block nilpotents, describe its components, and stable manifolds with respect to a torus action. The cohomology rings of pairwise intersections of these stable manifolds can be equipped with some convolution structure. The resulting algebra has a nice (very explicit) diagrammatic description based on an embedded 2-dimensional TQFT procedure. I will explain the combinatorics of this algebra and how it is related to the Ext-algebra of certain coherent sheaves.
