The Hitchhiker's Guide to

Mathematics

The Hitchhiker's Guide to Mathematics started Spring 1995 as a graduate student seminar in our department, giving all interested students the possibility of touristic excursions into different areas of Mathematics, as well as guiding others through an interesting field and thereby practicing the art of being a good guide.

We have about 10 students attending on a regular basis and giving about one talk per quarter each. The presentations are accesible to a graduate student who has passed the qualifying exams.
