Abstract:   A twisted version of N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions gives a natural framework for understanding the geometric Langlands program. Langlands duality arises from electric-magnetic duality of the gauge theory, with 't Hooft operators playing the role of Hecke operators and D-modules arising from the noncommutativity of branes.
