Abstract:
For any manifold M, the direct sum of the tangent and cotangent bundle
carries a canonical scalar product given by the pairing. Differential
forms may be viewed as spinors for the corresponding Clifford algebra,
and in particular there is a notion of 'pure' spinors.
In this talk, I will explain how to construct pure spinors over
semi-simple Lie groups G. As an application, we will see that
every conjugacy class in G carries a distinguished invariant measure.
