Abstract:   We introduce a category of linear algebra data called IC-modules, with relations of the form d²=0, equivalent to the category of stratification-constructible mixed perverse sheaves for flag varieties. Our construction does not use derived categories or t-structures, and makes sense for a wide variety of stratified spaces including toric varieties, affine Grassmannians, and locally symmetric spaces.
