SPEAKERS
The following speakers have already accepted invitations to give hour talks:
Abstracts of the talks may be found here.

A list of speakers at previous Geometry Festivals can be found here.

SCHEDULE

Check-in will begin at 12 noon on Friday in the Shillman Building, just outside Room 135 SH. The first talk will be at 3PM on Friday, followed by tea. All remaining lectures will take place Saturday and Sunday.

Participants will be on their own for dinner Friday evening, and will be provided with a list of suggested restaurants.

On Saturday morning, breakfast will be served from 8:30 - 9:30 AM, followed by two talks, and three more talks in the afternoon. There will be a banquet Saturday night (see below).

On Sunday morning, breakfast will again be served from 8:30 - 9:30 AM, followed by two talks. The Festival will end at noon on Sunday, to allow for travel home that day.

PARKING

Conference participants can park in the Parking Garage or the Northeastern parking lots on Columnbus Avenue, free of charge from Friday at 2pm Friday to Sunday at 1pm.

Do not use the Visitor's Parking (Renaissance Parking Garage), which is not free and is very expensive. To see the locations for parking, you may consult the Campus Map.

REGISTRATION AND BANQUET INFORMATION

Participants are asked to register in advance. An electronic Registration Form is now available. See here the list of people already registered. The usual registration fee of $30 ($20 for graduate students) will be waived. However, we suggest a donation of $10 ($5 for graduate students) at the registration desk, so as to help defray the cost of breakfasts during the conference.

There will be a banquet on Saturday night, at the Faculty Center. The price is again $30 for faculty or other professionals, but will be reduced to $10 for graduate students, tax and tip included. If you wish to attend the banquet, you must sign up by Monday, April 16; please check the appropriate boxes on the registration form and include the banquet fee with your breakfast donation. You can write one check to cover both.

The Geometry Festival will provide breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and refreshments throughout the weekend for all participants.

Participants will pay for their own travel, hotel accommodations, lunches and dinners.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

The Geometry Festival is supported in part by a grant from the National Science Foundation.

If funds remain after conference expenses are paid, partial reimbursement of travel and hotel costs will be made to some participants, with preference given to graduate students and younger faculty who do not have NSF or other grant or school support. Please check the appropriate boxes and provide the indicated information on the registration form to help us with this.

People interested in applying for travel funds should send (preferably by email) the following information:

  1. A vita, including list of publications.
  2. Whether other NSF grant or school support is available.
  3. Whether participation in the poster session is desired.
The deadline for sending in requests for travel support has been extended up to the time of the Festival.
