Assistant Professor Ben Webster Awarded CAREER Grant by the NSF
Assistant Professor Ben Webster has been awarded a CAREER grant for the period 2012-2017. CAREER awards are 5-year grants specially aimed at faculty early in their careers, which recognize outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research. The award will support Professor Webster's research in knot theory and algebraic geometry, his efforts in online mathematical exposition and research and will provide a stipend for a graduate student. Professor Webster received his Ph.D. from the University of California in 2007 and had previously received an NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship and an NSA Young Investigator grant.
