Justin Dowd Wins the Race for Space!
Justin Dowd, a combined math/physics major, has won a competition to travel into space in 2014 on a spaceplane currently being built by a private spaceflight company, Space XC. The competition was sponsored by Metro, and attracted thousands of candidates. But Justin's success was based upon a video that he created that explains Einstein's theory of relativity. Of course, he also needed to convince the company that he is good physical condition, which he maintains by training for a 12 mile endurance race.
In reacting to the news, Justin said, “I feel like the luckiest guy in the world and for about 20 minutes, I’ll be the luckiest guy in outer space!”
