Course Description (Complete Syllabus)
Grading: There will be Five30-minute Quizzes counting 40% or 50% in all. One Midterm counts 10%. The two-hour Final Exam will count 40% or 50% if it is better than the pre-final average.
Scales: 93-100 = A; 90-92 = A-; 87-89 = B+; 83-86 = B; 80-82 = B-; 77-79 = C+; 73-76 = C; 70-72 = C-; 67-69 = D+; 63-66 = D; 60-62 = D-; and below 60 = F.
Homework: Homeworks will be regularly assigned and discussed in class. You are expected to work on all of the homework problems assigned for each topic. Although the homework is not counted in grading, the quizzes and the final exam will consist of similar problems so doing it is very essential.
Final Exam: All students without legitimate conflicts must take the final exam at the scheduled time. Contact the Registrar in the first two weeks of classes if you have a time conflict or three finals in one day.
Attendance Policy: Your regular attendance is expected. It is your responsibility to know assignments and other class information including any changes to the syllabus the instructor may make as they are announced in class. Students are responsible to know about all information given, even when they are absent. Feel free to use e-mail to ask me.
