Homework is assigned for each section and will be collected several times during the quarter. (Unless otherwise noted, assigned homework must be completed by the next class period.) There will be four quizzes and a one-hour midterm exam (which counts as 3 quizzes) to keep you up to date on the material. If you miss a test, you will earn a zero for that test: there will be no make-up tests. (The lowest quiz grades will be dropped.) Note: If a class is cancelled, and a test was to be given during that class, the test will be given during the next class meeting. There will be a two-hour cumulative, departmental final exam. No student will be granted a request for a special final exam unless it is due to a registrar created conflict. Homework is assigned for each section and will be collected several times during the quarter. (Unless otherwise noted, assigned homework must be completed by the next class period.) You will receive credit (indicated by a check) for each assignment you turn in that shows (clearly) the work for each problem, as well as the answers. You must check your answers: I only check to see that youve worked on each problem. (Answers to (odd) numbered problems are given in the back of the book, starting on page 309.) If you get stuck with a problem, or your answer is wrong, show the work youve done so far, and ask your classmates, a tutor, or me about it. Note: incomplete assignments will be returned to you to complete for a check. No assignment handed in for the first time after I collect them will receive a check. There will be four quizzes and a one-hour midterm exam (which counts as 3 quizzes) to keep you up to date on the material. If you miss a test, you will earn a zero for that test: there will be no make-up tests. (The lowest quiz grades will be dropped.) Note: If a class is cancelled, and a test was to be given during that class, the test will be given during the next class meeting. There will be a two-hour cumulative, departmental final exam. No student will be granted a request for a special final exam unless it is due to a registrar created conflict. If you miss this exam you will receive a grade of zero because no make-up exams will be given. Therefore, plan any end-of-quarter travel carefully.
