Artificial Neural Network is a mathematical model inspired by biological neural networks. In recent years, neural network has become a popular tool in many engineering applications due to its simplicity and it flexibilty to model nonlinear relationships. It is been widely used for pattern matching and classification (speech and visual pattern recognition), prediction and process control, etc.
My research interest in this area concentrates on studying the properties of neural network prediction from a statistical perspective: to provide assement of uncertainty in neural network prediction and improve prediction using statistical methods.
