The CDS English Dance Program

The Wednesday Series

CDS sponsors a series of English Country dances Wednesdays from September til the middle of June, with live music every week. All dances are held at the Park Avenue Church in Arlington. Dances run from 7:30 -10:30, admission $6 for non-members, $5 for CDS members, $3 for students and seniors, half price tickets available for beginners. The artistic director for the English Dance Program is Helene Cornelius; other members of the Wednesday staff are Emily Ferguson, Barbara Finney, George Fogg, Richard Jackson, Robin Rodgers-Browne, Jacqueline Schwab and Chris Walker. This season starts with Helene Cornelius and Jacqueline Schwab leading. Music is usually provided by members of Bare Necessities, one of the finest English Country Dance bands in the world.

First Fridays

On the first Friday of the month from October to June, CDS sponsors an English Country dance for experienced dancers at the Church of Our Savior, Carleton&Monmouth Sts., Brookline. Admission is $5 for all. The dance runs from 8:15-11:00.
