Title: On the K-theory of singular varieties

Abstract: We report on joint work with Cortinas, Haesemeyer and Weibel on the K-theory of singular varieties. In particular, we explain a proof of a conjecture of Weibel (in characteristic 0) asserting the vanishing of negative K-groups K_n(X) for n<-dim(X).
