| Abstract: The Euler obstruction is an invariant of singularities which has been introduced by R. MacPherson. Lê and Teissier have given a formula for this invariant, in terms of the multiplicities of Polar Varieties. We shall give another formula obtained by a direct geometrical calculation which involves indices of vector fields on singular spaces. |
