Professor Lakmibai Mathematics, Northeastern University Degenerations of Schubert Varieties
Abstract: We construct two kinds of flat families parametrized by the affine line. Both the families will have Schubert varieties as generic fibers. The special fiber for the first family will be a monomial scheme and that for the second family will be a toric variety.
